How it works

Fair, and checked.

  1. Readers nominate. Signed-in readers suggest one business per category.
  2. We check every finalist. Our team confirms each one is open and operating on Long Island before it goes on the ballot.
  3. Readers vote. One vote per category per reader. You can change your mind until voting closes.
  4. Winners are announced here and in The Weekly Wave, with the share of the vote each finalist earned.
