Glen Cove has a new stop for dog owners. Woof Gang Bakery and Grooming, a national pet grooming and retail franchise, is open at 195A Forest Avenue, and the company's own location directory now lists the shop with full store and grooming hours, seven days a week.

Grooming by appointment, seven days

The Glen Cove store is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Grooming runs on the same schedule, with online booking through the company site and walk-ins taken on occasion when the schedule allows. The company recommends appointments, and says a full session can take up to about two hours depending on the dog.

The service menu runs from a classic bath, with shampoo, conditioner, ear cleaning, blow-dry and brushing, starting at $35 to $75 by weight, up to a full groom with a luxury bath, full haircut and sanitary trim, starting at $80 to $135 for standard coats. Poodles, doodles and other curly coats run higher, starting at $100 to $155 for the full groom. Pricing is set by weight class, from dogs under 20 pounds to dogs over 100, and the shop grooms all breeds and sizes. Its shampoos are rated for puppies 12 weeks and older.

Add-ons lean into the spa framing: a blueberry pie facial, a de-shedding treatment the menu calls the Hairy Beast, teeth brushing, nail painting, and a birthday package. Walk-in nail trims and grinds are available without a full appointment.

A bakery case for dogs

The retail side carries the line that gives the franchise its name: baked dog treats and birthday cakes, alongside toys, chews, accessories and a pet food selection that spans raw, frozen, dry, wet and grain-free options. Brands stocked by the chain include Acana, Orijen, Fromm and The Honest Kitchen, with availability varying by store. The company also offers nutritional counseling for dogs and cats, and its stores host seasonal events including Yappy Hours, educational seminars and pet photo days, announced on each location's social pages.

The brand's North Shore footprint grows

The Glen Cove shop joins a Long Island group that already includes Woof Gang locations in Hicksville, Port Washington and West Islip, part of a franchise network that stretches across the country. For the North Shore, it puts a grooming and pet supply option on Forest Avenue, one of the city's main commercial corridors, within a short drive of Sea Cliff, Glen Head and Locust Valley.
