Ugly Dumpling is open at 3535 Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown, the restaurant's second Long Island location and its newest addition to a chain that now stretches across seven states.

The Levittown restaurant serves the menu the brand is built on: xiao long bao soup dumplings offered in six flavors, each hand-folded with an 18-pleat technique, alongside wok-prepared noodles, pork chop fried rice, baby back ribs and salt and pepper popcorn chicken. The cooking draws on the street food of Shanghai, reworked into a fast-casual format with online ordering for takeout and delivery.

Weeks after Smith Haven

Levittown follows close behind the brand's first Long Island restaurant, which opened this month at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove. The company's Instagram account moved Levittown from its coming soon list to its now open list this week, putting two Long Island locations on the board in the same month.

The chain's location list now runs to 17 restaurants across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Texas and Virginia, with New York stops in Levittown, Lake Grove, Scarsdale and the Bronx. The company lists a Kissimmee, Florida location as coming next.
