The Riverhead Farmers Market has a new winter home on Sound Avenue. Hallockville Museum Farm has announced a partnership with the market to host it in the farm's historic Naugles Barn every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., starting Nov. 7 and running into April.
A market inside a museum farm
Hallockville is a museum farm on Sound Avenue in Riverhead that preserves the North Fork's family farming history, with historic houses and barns on its grounds. The museum says bringing the market into Naugles Barn is part of its effort to make the farm a year-round community resource, with partnerships, education and events beyond the growing season. Shoppers get the historic farmstead as a setting, and the market gets a home for the months after the outdoor season ends.
