The Long Beach Turkey Trot is moving. The City Council's 21st annual race on Sunday, November 22, 2026, starts and finishes at a new spot, on the boardwalk at Riverside Boulevard, and the City of Long Beach has published a new 10K course that runs the boardwalk west, cuts over to Broadway, and comes back along the ocean.
The new course
According to the city, the 10K (6.2 miles) runs like this:
- Start on the boardwalk at Riverside Boulevard and head west to New York Avenue.
- Leave the boardwalk for Broadway and run east, with traffic, to Neptune Boulevard.
- Return to the boardwalk at Neptune and head west to Washington Boulevard.
- Turn at Washington and run east along the boardwalk to the finish at Riverside.
The race's registration page describes the course as accurately measured, flat and fast. Strollers are not allowed on the course, and the race goes on rain or shine.
The schedule
- 7 to 8 a.m.: day-of registration and T-shirt pickup under the tent on Riverside Boulevard. For GPS, the city lists 1 Riverside Blvd., Long Beach.
- 8:30 a.m.: the one-mile children's race, for kids 14 and under. Every child who runs it gets an award.
