The Girl Scouts of Suffolk County Holiday Light Show is coming back to Camp Edey in Bayport for nine nights this December, and this year it adds something new: Girl Scout troops singing carols along the trail every night of the run. Anyone planning to go should know one date before any other. Early-bird pricing ends Thursday, November 5.

When and where

The show is at Camp Edey, 1500 Lakeview Avenue, Bayport, the Girl Scouts' camp on the South Shore between Sayville and Blue Point. It runs three weekends, Friday through Sunday:

  • December 4, 5 and 6
  • December 11, 12 and 13
  • December 18, 19 and 20

Fridays and Saturdays run from 5 to 9 p.m. Sundays run from 5 to 8 p.m.

What is on the trail

Visitors walk a lighted trail through the camp. Some of the displays were designed by Girl Scouts themselves. Along the way there is a giant Christmas tree set up as a photo spot, Santa's winter cabin, a Chill Zone and oversized lawn games.

The caroling is the new addition for 2026: local troops will sing on the trail every night the show is open. First Class Food Trucks are back to handle dinner and hot drinks.

The Cozy Bungalows return as well. There are four, each with its own theme, set along the trail. A bungalow is booked for 90 minutes, holds up to five people, covers their admission and comes with $50 in food vouchers. Prices run $200 on Fridays, $200 or $250 on Saturdays depending on the date, and $190 on Sundays. Girl Scout troop packages are $185 on Fridays and Saturdays and $175 on Sundays.

Tickets and the early-bird deadline

Tickets are sold online only, for a chosen date and entry time, and they cannot be bought at the gate. They are not refundable, but they can be exchanged.

Regular admission on Friday and Saturday nights is $15 or $16.50 per person for entry between 5 and 8 p.m., depending on the weekend. After 8 p.m. on those nights, and all evening on Sundays, value admission applies: $13.50 for the public and $11.50 for registered Girl Scouts. Children 2 and under are free.

Through November 5, the early-bird discount takes an extra $2.50 off each ticket for the public and an extra $5 off for registered Girl Scouts. It is applied at checkout and does not stack with the value tickets.

Where the money goes

Ticket sales fund the council's leadership programs and its financial sponsorships, which help girls join Girl Scouts or spend a summer at Camp Edey who otherwise could not afford to. A night on the trail is, in effect, a camp scholarship.
