The Freeport Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Show returns to the Freeport Recreation Center on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25, the last of its three Long Island dates this year. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
What fills the hall
Kaleidoscope Gem Shows, the promoter, keeps the theme to what it calls products produced by mother earth. Each Freeport show fields about 27 to 28 vendors, and the mix changes show to show: mineral and crystal dealers, some versed in the metaphysical side of their stones, fossil sellers, loose gemstone dealers, and jewelry makers whose work runs from precious stones set in platinum and gold down to silver pieces. Much of the jewelry is handmade, and the designers staff their own tables, so a buyer can ask about a piece directly. Bead dealers round out the floor.
Some of the vendors have been setting up at Freeport for more than 20 years, and the promoter adds new sellers regularly, so repeat visitors see different tables at each edition.
Six dollars in, and the fee stays in Freeport
Admission is $6 for adults, and the promoter knocks a dollar off for anyone who mentions seeing the show on its website. Children 12 and under get in free with an adult, and groups of five or more adults can call ahead for a group rate. Every admission dollar goes to the Freeport Recreation Center to support its programs for children and seniors, so the entry fee works as a small donation to the village's own facility.
A quarter mile from the Nautical Mile
The Recreation Center sits on Merrick Road just west of the Merrick border, a short hop from Freeport's waterfront and the restaurants and shops of the Nautical Mile, which makes it easy to pair the show with lunch on the water. The timing lands squarely in holiday shopping range: the October edition is the last Freeport show of 2026, with the next ones following in spring and summer of next year.
