General, cosmetic and restorative dentistry: cleanings and checkups, fillings, crowns and bridges, veneers, teeth whitening and bonding, and the routine care most families need most of the time. What distinguishes it is the staffing rather than the equipment list: procedures are supported by board-certified MD anesthesiologists and dedicated PACU recovery nurses.
That is worth pausing on, because sedation is where dental care and medical care actually meet. A physician anesthesiologist whose only job in the room is the airway, and a recovery nurse monitoring a patient through every stage of waking up, is a hospital standard delivered in a private setting.
