The Cheesecake Factory is staffing up a new restaurant at Green Acres in Valley Stream. The company's own hiring site now lists Valley Stream among its newest restaurant openings, marked as hiring now at Green Acres Mall, and eleven jobs are posted for the location at 2034 Green Acres Road.

The mall's directory lists The Cheesecake Factory as coming soon on Level 1, putting the national casual dining chain inside the shopping center on Sunrise Highway at the Queens border.

Eleven jobs posted, with the pay listed

The posted roles run from the kitchen to the front of the house. A restaurant manager position pays $66,550 to $70,000 a year, stewards earn $20 to $26 an hour, dishwashers $18 to $22 an hour, and prep cooks are among the other kitchen roles listed, with the company publishing a compensation range on each posting.

The Cheesecake Factory places new locations on a dedicated new restaurant openings page while they staff up, and Valley Stream currently sits there alongside openings in North Carolina, Missouri and Kansas. The company describes a new restaurant opening as its own kind of event for staff, with training ahead of the first day of service.

A 200-item menu and more than 50 cheesecakes

The mall directory describes the incoming restaurant the way the chain runs everywhere: an upscale casual dining room with more than 200 menu selections, spanning appetizers, pizza, pasta, seafood, steaks, salads and sandwiches, plus a dessert case holding more than 50 kinds of cheesecake.

For Valley Stream, the opening adds a full-service sit-down restaurant to a mall corridor where most of the dining is quick service, and it adds dozens of jobs a short drive from home for residents of the Five Towns, Lynbrook, Rosedale and the surrounding neighborhoods.

What to watch for

The company has not published an opening date on its hiring or location pages, and the restaurant does not yet appear in the chain's location finder. The clearest signal of how close it is: hiring is live now, which at other locations has run through the weeks of training that come right before the doors open.
