The Cheesecake Factory has a date for Valley Stream. The company's own location finder now lists the new restaurant at 2034 Green Acres Road as opening December 15, putting the chain inside Green Acres in time for the holiday shopping season.

The listing is the answer to the question the chain left open two days ago, when its hiring site showed Valley Stream staffing up with eleven posted jobs and no opening day. The restaurant now appears in the company's New York location list alongside its established Long Island dining rooms, with the opening date attached.

What is coming to Sunrise Highway

The Cheesecake Factory runs upscale casual dining rooms with a menu of more than 200 items, from appetizers and pizza to pasta, seafood, steaks, salads and sandwiches, finished by a dessert case stocked with dozens of kinds of cheesecake. Green Acres lists the incoming restaurant on Level 1 of the mall, which sits on Sunrise Highway at the Queens border.

For the neighborhoods around the mall, the Five Towns, Lynbrook, Rosedale and the rest of southwest Nassau, the opening adds a full table-service restaurant to a shopping corridor where most of the food is quick service. It also lands three weeks into the holiday run, when the mall is at its busiest.

The fifth Long Island dining room

Valley Stream joins four Cheesecake Factory restaurants already operating on Long Island, in Westbury, Huntington, Lake Grove and Bay Shore, according to the company's New York location list. The chain also operates in Elmhurst, one stop over the Queens line.

The company typically runs weeks of training at a new restaurant before the first day of service, and hiring for Valley Stream opened in late October with roles across the kitchen and the front of the house. A restaurant manager position was posted at 66,550 to 70,000 dollars a year, with hourly roles from dishwasher to steward listing their pay ranges alongside.

If you want to be there

The restaurant opens Tuesday, December 15 at Green Acres, 2034 Green Acres Road in Valley Stream. Job seekers can still apply through the company's careers site, which lists Valley Stream among its newest restaurant openings.
