Adventureland has been running rides on Route 110 in Farmingdale since 1962, and for its 65th season in 2027 the park is making two additions and one notable subtraction. Two new family rides are coming, the Tigers Den Family Roller Coaster and the Flying Tigers, and the Antique Cars, which have been part of the park in one form or another since 1965, have been retired.
The park announced the plans on Nov. 2, along with the dates and prices for its holiday sale on 2027 season passes, which starts the week of Nov. 9.
The Tigers Den, a coaster sized for families
The Tigers Den is a family roller coaster designed and built by Zamperla, the ride manufacturer. According to the park, the track runs 301 feet, the ride climbs to a maximum height of 15 feet and it reaches a top speed of 16 miles per hour, which the park describes as about average for a family coaster. Each train carries about 12 riders.
Riders need to be at least 36 inches tall to ride with an adult and 40 inches tall to ride alone.
Flying Tigers, styled after a World War II fighter
The second addition, also a Zamperla ride, is themed on the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, the fighter plane flown by the American volunteer pilots known as the Flying Tigers during World War II. The park lists its footprint at about 50 by 27 feet, roughly 1,356 square feet, with room for about 32 passengers at a time. Height requirements match the coaster: 36 inches with an adult, 40 inches to ride alone.
The Antique Cars are gone after six decades
The retirement of the Antique Cars is the change many longtime visitors will notice first. The park says the cars had been part of Adventureland in various forms since 1965, three years after the park opened. The park did not say what will take the space.
Legacy Corner nears completion
Adventureland is also finishing its Legacy Corner area, a renovation that began in 2024. After nearly three years of work, the park says the project has expanded amenities, food and game areas around the park, and a few more changes to that section are planned for the 2027 season as it nears completion.
The 2027 season pass holiday sale
The holiday sale runs from the week of Nov. 9 through Jan. 5. During that window:
- Adult Season Pass (ages 25 and up): $99
- General Season Pass (ages 2 to 24): $165
On Jan. 6 the prices go to $120 for the adult pass and $185 for the general pass. Season passes are valid every regular operating day of the 2027 season and include unlimited admission and unlimited rides. By the park's own math, an adult pass bought at the sale price pays for itself in just over two visits and a general pass in just over three.
