Horton Point Lighthouse and Nautical Museum Open Weekends

Saturday, August 1, 2026, 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. · Horton Point Lighthouse, Lighthouse Road, Southold

The friendliest lighthouse climb on the North Fork. Horton Point has watched over Long Island Sound since 1857, and the Southold Historical Museum opens it on weekends through mid-September with a small nautical museum inside: marine instruments, paintings and local maritime history. The climb is only two floors, which makes it manageable for young children and anyone who would rather not spiral up a hundred and eighty steps. Admission runs about $5 per adult or $10 per family. Hours are volunteer-dependent, so confirm before making the drive.
