Alluring Age’s Dr. Luis Fandos Earns Vagus Nerve Certification
West Islip, NY — October 3, 2025 – Alluring Age proudly announces that Dr. Luis Fandos, MD, ABAPM, has successfully earned Level One Certification in Vagus Nerve Science and Clinical Conditions from the Vagus Nerve Society (VNS). This milestone reflects Dr. Fandos’s ongoing commitment to delivering cutting-edge medical innovation through his role as Medical Director at Alluring Age, where he continues to redefine patient-centered care with a focus on functional and cellular medicine.
Dr. Luis Fandos, MD, ABAPM - “The vagus nerve represents one of the most exciting frontiers in modern medicine,” said Dr. Fandos. “At Alluring Age, our mission has always been to help patients look, feel, and live better. This certification allows me to offer advanced therapies that restore balance, reduce disease burden, and empower patients to live longer, healthier, more vibrant lives.”
A Distinguished Medical Leader
With more than 25 years of medical expertise, Dr. Fandos has built an outstanding reputation as both a physician and educator. He serves as Director of the Division of Pain Medicine at South Shore University Hospital, Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, and physician leader at New York Spine and Pain Physicians. His career has been marked by relentless dedication to advancing pain management, cellular medicine, and now vagus nerve science.
Originally from Rosario, Argentina, Dr. Fandos came to the United States in 1993, completing his residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1997 and fellowships at Columbia University’s St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital and Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. His work has spanned traditional interventional pain management and forward-looking approaches in cellular medicine, including genetic testing, peptide therapy, IV therapy, and hormone replacement.
Unlocking the Power of the Vagus Nerve
The vagus nerve—often called the “master regulator” of the parasympathetic nervous system—plays a pivotal role in controlling inflammation, digestion, mood regulation, and cognitive health. The certification through the Vagus Nerve Society equipped Dr. Fandos with advanced training in both electrical and lifestyle-based stimulation methods, expanding his ability to design treatment plans that address root causes rather than symptoms.
Through this program, Dr. Fandos studied a wide range of applications, including:
How vagus nerve stimulation reduces chronic inflammation and pain
The gut-brain connection and its influence on mental health and neuroplasticity
The role of the vagus nerve in stress, trauma, and polyvagal theory
Lifestyle approaches such as breathwork, cold immersion, nutrition, and herbs to enhance vagal tone
Cutting-edge research into vagus stimulation’s use in neurological, metabolic, and post-viral conditions
About the Vagus Nerve Society
The Vagus Nerve Society (VNS) is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to education, research, and clinical application of vagus nerve science. Through its certification programs, VNS equips physicians and clinicians across multiple disciplines with the knowledge and tools to integrate bioelectrical and neuromodulation therapies into practice. Its mission is to expand access to innovative treatments that leverage the vagus nerve’s role in systemic regulation, with applications in inflammation, pain, digestion, mental health, and longevity.
