Owners Madeline Lunz, Amber McCullough, and Teresa Striker opened the doors of Argyle Toys in 2021 and have since doubled the size of the store, establishing a reputation as the “go-to” spot for unique toys and built expansive online business shipping toys nationwide. In celebration, Argyle Toys will be featuring a series of discounts, events, and raffles all weekend. Reaching this milestone was no easy feat as they learned to navigate the unpredictable challenges created by the COVID pandemic.

“We planned and prepared the best we could but there was really nothing that could prepare us for the backlog created at the ports during the busiest season,” says Striker. “Being moms also brought its own set of challenges as our own children faced frequent quarantines with little childcare options. Luckily this Babylon community really rallied around us.”

As business owners and local residents, it was imperative that they succeed in this turbulent environment! In celebration of this 1-year milestone, a series of discounts are being shared with the community both in-store and online. Kicking off Friday, June 17th through the weekend (the Sunday the 19th), customers online and in-store will receive 15% off all orders. In addition to discounts, Friday evening from 4-7 pm, families are invited to come down to the store to enjoy an origami-making class and face painting. To keep the celebration going, starting June 19th through the whole week, each day will feature a unique surprise sale announced on Facebook and Instagram.

“After a year of support from the community, we wanted to be able to give back as much as possible. Being able to celebrate with new and loyal customers is very important to us,” says Madeline Lunz.

“Building a safe space for children of all ages and needs has been an amazing experience. There is nothing like a child finding the perfect toy in our sensory section or a classic wooden toy that will be passed through the family,” says Amber McCullough. “ We look forward to many more years of celebrations to come.”
