Top Winter Light Shows 🎄

With the holiday season approaching it is never too early to get in the spirit! With the amazing decorations and light shows the holidays bring with them, there are truly magical experiences possible, even right here on Long Island. At these spectacular light shows you and your family can feel transported right into the holidays:


Magic of Lights, Wantagh

Grab your friends or family and drive down to Jones Beach for their Magic of Lights show. No need to walk through because you can enjoy the entire show from the comfort of your own car. There will be dazzling holiday scenes and your favorite holiday characters through the use of LED lights. Open from November 19th until January 2nd 2022 daily. On Sunday through Thursday the show is open from Dusk - 10 pm, and Fridays and Saturdays it is open from Dusk - 11 pm. Tickets are per car and you can purchase them here. 

In addition to the drive-through there is a Toyota Holiday Village at the light show. Their kids can send letters to Santa using their custom templates. You can find the template here. There will also be a concession stand with holiday treats available. Inside the Holiday Village will be Mega Holiday Trees with over 240 feet of lights.


Smith Point Light Show, Smith Point

Join the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County for their annual drive-through light show. With a 1.5 mile trail there are many light displays to look at. The event starts November 27th and is open until January 9th, 2022. Typically the hours run from 5 pm - 9 pm Monday through Thursday and 5 pm - 10 pm on Friday through Sunday, but you can find the specific hours here. And all proceeds benefit the Girl Scout programs. Tickets are per car and you can purchase them here. And while buying a ticket you can pre-order a snack pack which includes a water bottle and a cookie. So you can relax and enjoy some refreshments while looking at the fantastic light displays.


The Holiday Light Show, Calverton

With another drive through light show, you will be able to stay warm in your car while looking at the amazing lights. At the Holiday Light Show you are able to look at dozens of light displays on the over 1 mile route. To get the full experience you can tune your radio and enjoy a synced performance of music and lights. The show runs from November 19th until December 30th on select days. Typically Fridays and Saturdays it is open from 5 pm - 11 pm and 5 pm - 9 pm on weeknights, you can find the specific hours and days open here. Tickets are per car and you can purchase them here.


Shimmering Solstice, Old Westbury

Go down to the Old Westbury Gardens for a magical walkthrough event. See light displays along the Old Westbury Gardens' gorgeous paths. Lightswitch has designed light displays specifically for this event! In addition to seeing the lights guests are able to enjoy festive food and drinks while being able to see these amazing displays. Usually it is open from November 20th until January 9th 2022 from 5:30 pm- 9:30 pm. Tickets are per person and you can purchase them here.


Lumi’s Utopia, Manhasset

Visit Whitney Pond Park for their unique immersive art lights! With their beautiful light up sculptures you cannot go wrong giving them a shot. This immersive experience with Lumi, the LuminoCity mascot as your guide, will open on select nights from November 12th until January 9th 2022 from 4:30 pm - 8:30 pm. Tickets are only available per person rather than a group-ticketing system, and you can purchase them here.
