Long Island’s largest family music festival, known as the Great South Bay Music Festival at Shorefront Park in Patchogue, will be put on hold for another year due to the pandemic.

“The disappointment that we feel, first losing the 2020 and now the 2021 festival to this pandemic is maddening, but the health and safety of our attendees, artists, workers, community and fest family is our top priority,” the festival said in a Facebook announcement.

“We continually monitored the progress being made before making a decision. We were excited to watch the decline in positivity rates and hospitalizations as vaccinations increased. But today as we watch restrictions being lifted, we are also watching the numbers increase faster than ever, with more closures starting to appear. That ‘uncertainty’ is what fuels the postponement,” it continued.

The festival is being rescheduled for July 7 through July 10, 2022. All 2020 and 2021 purchased tickets will be honored for the 2022 shows.

There will be more information to come about ticket refunds if you decide you would like to get your money back. For more updates and information, visit their Facebook or website
