“Pick your route, grab your bike and get ready to make a difference together in the lives of those touched by cancer,” Empire State Ride Long Island.
Empire State Ride Long Island will be returning for a spectacular, Island-wide fundraising event on July 24, 2021. These rides, which can be conducted virtually or through their one-week, New York to Niagara Falls challenge, will benefit cancer patients at Catholic Health in Long Island and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo.
There are two major options for those who want to participate. First, there is the in-person, one-week ride from New York to Niagara Falls. A requirement for this option is fundraising a minimum of $3500. For those who wish to participate, but are new to fundraising, there are resources available on ESR Long Island’s website. There are also options for custom in-person rides.
For those who want to participate virtually, no registration fee or prerequisite fundraising is necessary. The journey will involve riding 500 or more miles, and all of it can be done locally. This option allows people to explore whether ESR Long Island’s future events are for them, while also learning about valuable fundraising processes.
ESR Long Island is partnered with the Town of Oyster Bay. The in-person event will begin at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park in Oyster Bay. Here, orientation will be conducted on July 24, before adventurous cyclists begin their week-long journey starting on July 25.
Empire State Ride’s noble mission will provide funding for cancer research, encouraging cyclists everywhere to use their bikes for good. Visit their website for more information about their 2021 ride.
