Hair We Share Announces Second Annual United Salons of America Fundraiser to Support Medical Hair Loss Patients
Nationwide initiative unites the beauty industry to help individuals regain confidence and dignity through custom wigs
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 9, 2025
JERICHO, NY — Hair We Share proudly announces the Second Annual United Salons of America (USA) fundraiser, taking place throughout April 2025. This powerful initiative unites the beauty industry in support of a meaningful mission: restoring confidence to individuals affected by medical hair loss.
United Salons of America was launched in 2024 by Hair We Share Co-Founders Dean Riskin and Suzanne Chimera, in collaboration with Jo Marie, the initiative’s Chairperson. The idea was born after the trio worked together to deliver a wig to a young girl in need—an experience that sparked a movement to unite salons and professionals around the country for a shared cause.
Seeking Business Partners and Sponsors
While rooted in the salon community, United Salons of America invites participation from businesses of all types. Salons can host events or offer styling services, but any organization or individual can support the cause through financial donations, sponsorships, or awareness efforts.
Post-pandemic, Hair We Share saw a surge in donated ponytails—a beautiful problem, but one that came with its own challenge: funding the transformation of those donations into high-quality wigs for patients in need.
“We owe it to these donors, and to the individuals awaiting their wigs, to make this vision a reality,” said Suzanne Chimera, Co-Founder of Hair We Share.
Each wig requires significant financial resources and professional styling. That’s where United Salons of America steps in.
A Mission Rooted in Compassion
Chairperson Jo Marie was inspired by personal experiences with cancer patients.
“The transformation goes beyond physical appearance – it helps restore a sense of normalcy and dignity during an incredibly challenging time,” she said.
United Salons of America has already enabled dozens of patients to receive customized wigs that would otherwise be financially out of reach. With continued support, the organization hopes to expand even further.
“This isn’t just a salon initiative—it’s a community effort. Join our movement and help make a difference in the lives of those who need it most,” Jo Marie added.
