Best Long Island Wineries to Visit in the Fall 🍷

With the changing of the seasons comes the chance to watch the leaves change while enjoying some nice wine. From quality views to great food and even better drinks, here are some of the best wineries and vineyards to check out this fall.


RGNY

In Northfork, RGNY has much to offer from the Blending Experience where they help you be your own winemaker to the Winemaker’s tour where you learn more about the winemaking process. They even have different types of tastings. The RG tasting experience allows you to try five different wines paired with five different food items. They also have the Scielo in a Bottle where you can pick your wine and different types of food and dessert, while simultaneously playing games with friends as part of this bundle.

For the fall season, they are hosting a special Bonfire party on October 24th from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. You can purchase your tickets here. Included in the ticket is a glass of wine, food coucher even a custom blanket. There will be live music by DH Henry at this event as well.  The price is currently 75$ plus tax. 


Pugliese Vineyards

Another place in Northfork to check out is the Pugliese Vineyards. From a wide variety of wines from red to white to sparkling and even dessert wines there are too many to pick from for a wine tasting from reds, to whites, to sparkling, to dessert wines they have a large variety of wines and snacks to pair with.

They also have live music every Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., scheduled until November 6, 2021. Some of the live music performers include George Barry, The Atlantics, Cameron Hart, and Steve Arch Deacon.


Harmony Vineyards

At a more central location, Harmony Vineyards has much to offer. Their tasting room has a historic background since it's been open since the 1690s. There you are able to try their different types of wine and food. With five distinct venues to book you can enjoy wine with amazing views. 

While they have amazing tasting they also have an outdoor “Drink in Theater” where you can watch a movie while enjoying some fine wine. Right now they have scheduled “Casablanca” for October 1st and “My Cousin Vinny” for October 8. The movies start at 8:00 p.m. and you are able to make a reservation on their website, all you have to do is just put the number of people and reserve the time slot for 7:00 p.m.


Bedell Cellars

The Bedell is located in Cutchogue, with wine made from sustainably grown grapes it is not only tasty but also good for the environment. Open daily from 11:00 a.m. to  5:00 p.m., or until 6:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. With their beautiful sites to see, a contemporary art exhibit, and cozy loft areas to enjoy and relax with friends and family. They also have a menu full of different wine tastings and even have recommendations for cheese pairings.

While enjoying the wine and views you are also able to enjoy live music. On October 3, October 10th, and October 3, live music will be performed from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Also while enjoying the music there will be delicious local oysters from Cornell Oysters.


Pindar

If you are visiting or a resident of the Peconic area, Pindar Vineyards is a great place to check out. They have wine tastings open 7 days a week from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For only $15 you can enjoy your choice of five wines. Pindar is first-come-first-serve and there is both indoor and outdoor seating available. Coming soon in November they will be holding Champagne tastings on Sundays at 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. Reservations are required for this event, but for only $30 you can enjoy tasting two of their champagnes and some hors d’oeuvres. 

In October, Pindar Vineyard has many events coming up. Every Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., from October 2 through October 31. On October 3 is their Vineyard 5k where you can experience a 3.1-mile tour through the vineyard. Then on October 31, come see their annual charity fundraiser car show which is hosted by the Cutchogue Lions Club.
