Southold Restaurants You Have to Visit 🍲

North Fork Table & Inn

Located in the midst of the North Fork’s farms, vineyards and waterways, North Fork Table & Inn finds its home in a carefully preserved, historic countryside home in Southold. Whether you find yourself staying at the Inn or stumble in on your way across the East End, North Fork Table & Inn is a must-try Southold location.

The restaurant prides itself on its revitalization of the historic property, and of course, in its eclectic, carefully selected menu. Restaurateur & Michelin-starred Chef John Fraser and his team have worked diligently to emphasize the historic nature of the property, as well as a farm-to-table philosophy.

The dinner menu boasts an array of snacks, appetizers, entrees, and selections from their wood burning hearth. Brunch presents the same caliber of menu items, with snacks, breakfast items and lunch items. Its “The Farmer, The Fisherman, The Winemaker” section of the brunch menu offers a confit duck hash, a lobster scramble, and a Blue Duck bagel, charcuterie and cheese respectively. Its wine and dessert menus provide the perfect pairing or ending to your meal.

Stop in for dinner every Wednesday to Sunday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and brunch Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The North Fork Table & Inn food truck is in commission Friday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Wednesday's Table

Wednesday’s Table gets its name from a sentimental story. Owners Linh and Lena recall their father, who immigrated to the U.S. in the 70s, working hard all week, and spending his one day off-- on Wednesdays-- making meals for his six daughters. Linh and Lena hope to translate the feeling of that memory to their customers with their specially chosen menu items.

Visit Wednesday’s Table for lunch and choose from a variety of hot sandwiches like the Miso Marinated Steak, Pork Bahn Mi, and a Mushroom Truffle Grilled cheese. Also available are a selection of cold sandwiches, salads, and sides.

Wednesday’s Table is open Thursday through Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and closed on Wednesdays.

Waypoint Restaurant

Waypoint Restaurant is serving lunch and dinner waterside, right on the Mill Creek. The restaurant offers dockside dining, and welcomes boats and those on foot alike.

The restaurant’s lunch menu shows off its waterside location with a variety of fresh fish options with a raw bar with Little Neck Clams, Raw Oysters and Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail. Appetizers like Charred Octopus and Aussie Lamb Chops adorn the menu as well, followed by a selection of soups, salads and entrees including Confit Duck Leg Bucatini and Prime New York Steak.

The seafood motif continues with menu items like Shrimp Pomodoro, Lobster Ravioli, Poached Local Fluke, and Faroe Island Salmon.

The North Fork Shack

Owners Samy Sabil and Ryan Flatley have been operating The North Fork Shack since 2015. The restaurant offers a unique menu filled with starters, salads, a New England Clam Chowder, an eclectic selection of main dishes, and more.

Choose from appetizers like the Thai Coconut Curry Bowl or shrimp ceviche to get started. Try anything from a Fish Sandwich, to the S.L.T (shiitake, lettuce, tomato) sandwich, to a classic burger, or a Pulled Chicken Greek Bowl. The Gulf Winds section of the menu offers tacos and tostadas. Throw something from the Why Knot section on the side like Sriracha Coleslaw, Plantain Chips, or Celery & Manchego Salad to complete your meal.

The North Fork Shack also boasts a lineup of special themed weekend dinners, which can be found here. The restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. You can order online (including drinks to go) here.
