6 of the South Shore’s Best Burger Joints 🍔

Nothing beats a good burger in the summer months. Be it part of a barbecue or a simple dinner, burgers are an American favorite  With an ever-growing roster of great burger spots flooding Long Island, we decided to compile a list of some of the best burgers offered on the South Shore.


All American Hamburger Drive-In, Massapequa

All American Hamburger Drive-In is a Long Island burger staple. Having opened in 1963, this Massapequa-based burger drive-in contains what is often known as some of the best burgers around. With a recipe that, according to All American, has remained unchanged over its many years in business, there is a reason that Long Island residents travel from far and wide for their menu.

Speaking of their menu, burgers are not all that is offered. While there are plenty of those, including double cheeseburgers and quarter pounders, All American also offers fish filets, popular fries, and all-beef franks. 

No Good Burger Joint, Baldwin

No Good Burger Joint was opened in 2017 and has since become one of the Island’s most well-known spots to grab good burgers. No Good Burger Joint has plenty on the menu, including unique appetizers, and of course mouth-watering burgers.

Baldwin’s No Good Burger Joint is well known for its delicious, inventive signature burgers and sandwiches. Nowhere is this more evident than with The “Mac” Daddy, an 8oz burger topped with homemade mac and cheese, and served with a fresh pretzel bun. This burger is just the tip of the iceberg on a menu that boasts some of the most creative burgers around.

Black Label Burgers, Westbury

Black Label Burgers says it themselves, “Quality. That’s what it’s about, right?” On their website, Black Label Burgers claims to have some of the best meat in the market and proudly uses their beef products to create their renowned burgers.

The menu at Black Label is full of delectable meals that will never be enough for just one visit. Burgers are given recommended beer pairings, and perhaps most uniquely, offered alongside their burgers are wagyu beef hot dogs in three different styles. All in all, Black Label Burgers is well worth the trip for those wanting to enjoy their high-quality burgers among other menu items.

American Burgers, Rockville Centre

Having first opened in 1998, American Burgers has since established itself as a favorite in Rockville Centre. At first, American Burgers offered few options, but these were popular and well-loved burgers that allowed them to eventually expand their menu.

Their menu has evolved over the years to incorporate a wide variety of burgers. Themed after different states and utilizing those local styles, there are fifty different burgers to choose from. The New York Burger is a classic, topped with American cheese, onions, and grilled tomato, but there are plenty more options to explore.

Burger City, East Meadow

Burger City in East Meadow is a burger joint that no one should miss. Delicious eats can be found across the board, from their different-sized burgers to classic dishes like hot dogs, knishes, and well-reviewed crispy chicken nuggets.

Their efficient menu also contains some great sides, and this includes the more unique sweet potato tots, powdered in cinnamon sugar for a sweet treat during or after a meal.

Local Burger Co., Bay Shore

Local Burger Co. in Bay Shore is a part of the larger Local Burger Co. family. With two other locations in Patchogue and Southampton. Partnered with local purveyors and proud of it, Local Burger Co. features Long Island craft beers and a famed menu full of in-house specialties.

On the menu at Local Burger Co. are some great, quality burgers. This includes menu items that are out of the ordinary, such as the PB & B, a burger topped with cheddar, bacon, and just like the name states, peanut butter. There are also many healthier menu items such as items featuring quinoa and vegetables like their Hearty Bowl among others.
