Summer is quickly approaching, and that means it’s prime time to try out the ice cream shops Long Island has to offer.

1. Marshall's Ice Cream Bar

The sister store to Massapequa’s infamous All American Hamburger, Marshall’s Ice Cream Bar is an essential stop in Nassau County. The joint has been family-owned and operated since 1953, and provides a plethora of options for ice cream items like ice cream cakes, sundaes, cones, shakes, ice cream sodas, smoothies, and of course, stand-alone ice cream.

2. Marvel Ice Cream

Marvel Ice Cream is celebrating 70 years in business window-serving soft serve ice cream and frozen yogurt with toppings. 

The shop also features items like ice cream sandwiches, rootbeer floats, ice cream cakes, slushees, and even vegan soft serve options for those looking for plant-based options.

You can visit Marvel Ice Cream in one of its two locations at 258 Lido Blvd. in Lido Beach and at the Long Beach Boardwalk at National Blvd. Both locations are open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Visit their Instagram for more information.

3. Pip's Ice Cream Parlour

Located at 250 Woodcleft Ave. in Freeport, Pip’s Ice Cream Parlour serves up a variety of Hershey’s ice cream flavors. You can find every flavor from the classics like vanilla, chocolate, and mint chocolate chip, to more unique options like Road Runner Raspberry and Lil’ Blue Panda. Stop in to try a scoop or two in a fresh waffle cone, a cookie cone, or in a more eccentric menu item like its list of Extreme Shakes.

4. Lics Ice Cream

Lics Ice Cream has been a staple in Northport Village for over 25 years. The shop serves up a variety of homemade ice cream, gelato, ices, vegan options, and yogurts for shop-goers to enjoy. 

Just a few of the 70 flavors it proudly serves include vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, peanut butter cookie dough and caramel, hazelnut Nutella, and mocha brownie.

5. Frozen Anchor

Frozen Anchor is serving up everything an ice cream lover could ask for with classic, gluten-free, and vegan ice cream options and other frozen dessert options. It features menu items like ice cream sandwiches with freshly-baked cookies, mochi, shakes, and sundaes, as well as a variety of toppings. It also offers its ever-changing “Scoop of the Moment” which features a creative item dreamed up by the shop such as the Pineapple Tart Soft Serve, which is served in a fresh pineapple. The shop also makes ice cream cakes fresh every day, with the option to order a custom cake for your special occasion or event.
