The Huntington Antique Shop Hop will return this Sunday, June 13 after a hiatus last year.

Plan to visit your favorite Huntington antique stores and dealers between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The Shop Hop event had its first run in September of 2019, when a few Huntington antique stores had the epiphany to join forces in a collaborative event.

“All antique stores in Huntington tend to do an outdoor market sporadically on their own. If they have a parking lot, they gather some antique dealers and they set up and do a whole outdoor market. So we were thinking, why don’t we do it all together?” said Thea Morales, owner of Rosie’s Vintage in Huntington.

This year’s event will bring together four well-known Huntington antique stores and their dealers for shoppers to alternate between. Event goers can plan to visit Backstreet Antiques on 32 MacArthur Ave., Rosie's Vintage at 101 Woodbury Road, Funk & Swagger Antiques at 220 E. Main St., and The Huntington Historical Society Shop at 434 Park Ave.

The Rosie’s Vintage parking lot in particular will have tents and tables of around 15 dealers and other antique shops from around the Island set up with their merchandise. The four shops will be intermingling their dealers in an effort to make things concise and easy for shoppers who may be looking for certain items. Besides the outdoor market, all the antique stores will be open for shoppers to browse as well.

“We don’t pull things from the store, all the dealers will be bringing more stuff,” Morales said.

Additionally, Morales will be making a checklist for the antique stores to hand out during the event that will have even more shops listed that can’t participate in an outdoor market.

The shops are optimistic about the turnout, and are excited to bring small businesses and vintage lovers together for the day-long event.

“It’s something for everyone to enjoy and brings together small businesses in Huntington. In the past people have really seemed to enjoy themselves,” Morales said.

For more information, visit the event’s Facebook page, or contact one of the participating shops.
