The liquor-infused ice cream the shop sells is the perfect way to cool off as summer comes into full swing.

Owner, Melissa Tavss, has a big family history of ice cream making, dating back to the 1800s. Keeping with the tradition of her ancestors, Tavss has put a unique, boozy twist on ice cream by combining everyone’s two favorite things, ice cream and alcohol.

Tipsy Scoop provides 12 year-round flavors, the most popular being the Dark Chocolate Whiskey Salted Caramel as Tavss revealed, with three to four additional flavors that come and go seasonally. Starting Memorial Day weekend, Tipsy Scoop will offer their rum-infused flavors such as a Mango Margarita, Dirty Banana, Pina Colada, and Spiked Key Lime Pie that are only here for the season, as stated by Tavss.

This new Long Beach location is set for its grand opening Memorial Day weekend and is located at 891 West Beach St. Come join Tipsy Scoop at 12 p.m. on Friday May 28, 2021, as the first 50 guests will receive a scoop for $1. A valid ID must be present in order to purchase, as their ice cream does contain up to 5% alcohol. Aside from the $1 scoops, there will also be some fun specialties offered. “We have some really fun beach themed sundaes and ice cream flights that we will be offering specifically for the Long Beach location,” noted Tavss.

Tipsy Scoop blossomed during the pandemic, as they offer nationwide shipping for many of their ice creams. The future looks bright for this company as Tavss said, “We hope to open new stores and new wholesale accounts, so we’re in grocery stores in different areas all the time.”

Get your alcohol infused ice cream from the Long Beach location Tuesday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Must be 21+ with a valid ID to purchase.
