Great South Bay Brewery, located at 25 Drexel Dr. in Bay Shore, has served up their house-brewed beer to Long Islanders at their tasting room, grocery stores, beer distributors, and restaurants alike.
The well-known local brewery chalked up a win from Best of L.I. as Best Bar for Day Drinking, just in time for beer lovers to enjoy the summer weather.
Great South Bay Brewery hosts a plethora of options on its beer menu, offering up well-known favorites like its Blonde Ambition Blonde Ale, Blood Orange Pale Ale, and Massive IPA. It also features an ever-changing list of limited releases, which currently includes a handful of beers, seltzers and sours like the HOPsital Heroes IPA, which was created with the frontline workers of South Shore University Hospital in mind. For those looking to steer clear of beer, the brewery offers its “Spiked” Hard Seltzers, which come in flavors like sour cherry, sparkling lemonade, and watermelon, as well as its Tipsy Teas.
The tasting room opens for patrons to enjoy at 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 12 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The brewery’s spacious taproom provides games like darts and ping-pong, and has glass block windows looking into the brewing area where brewery goers can watch the beer-making process. Its outdoor seating is equally as spacious and entertaining, but is weather permitting. The brewery allows families seven days a week, so long as those under the age of 21 are accompanied by a parent. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are permitted all days but Saturday.
A full on-tap beer menu can be found here, and more information, including hours and regulations, can be found on the Great South Bay Brewery website. Currently, Great South Bay Brewery is not accepting cash transactions.
