Hitch Handmade Market is at Home in its Babylon Village Storefront
Hitch Handmade Market has spent almost two years in its Babylon Village storefront, having transitioned to the location during the August 2019 Babylon Block Party after spending three years running their business out of a trailer.
Friends and Hitch Handmade Market co-owners Joe DeBello and Justina DiMaggio take pride in their focus on selling the merchandise of primarily local vendors, ranging from upcycled designer items, to belts, wallets, and other accessories.
Quote from Greater Long Island (original article)
They decided to settle their shop in Babylon Village at 37 East Main Street despite all of the other South Shore options they had because of its “tight-knit community feel.”
As if Hitch Handmade Market isn’t unique enough already, its storefront is connected to two other neighboring Babylon businesses-- The Boutique and Babylon Mercantile. While the three businesses all possess their own front entrance, they made the ultimate decision before Hitch Handmade Market even signed their lease to connect the three shops from the inside. They also share an outdoor patio space, where they plan to eventually hold collaborative events.
