27A Brewing Company brings Brewing back to Lindenhurst
It’s safe to say that the town of Lindenhurst has a historical relationship with beer, dating way back to the 19th century. The brewing town has hosted a number of local breweries, including Linden Brew, formerly the largest of the region, which closed in 1949.

Despite this rich history, Lindenhurst experienced a decades-long dry spell of local breweries, up until couple Ryan Cooke and Melissa Bates-Cooke decided to revive its history in opening 27A Brewing Company at 173 N. Wellwood Avenue.
“The fact that Lindenhurst was a brewing town is important to us,” Cooke told the Long Island Press “We’re happy to keep that tradition alive.”
Cooke and Bates-Cooke have made sure to honor Lindenhurst’s history with beer, decorating their venue with Lindenhurst memorabilia and old Linden Brew bottles.
27A Brewing currently offers seven beers on tap that you can also take home in crowlers, as well as an assortment of finger foods to keep you full while you enjoy the star of the show-- the beer.
You can visit 27A Brewing at 173 North Wellwood Avenue, Lindenhurst Wednesday through Sunday. Visit their website to see hours and additional information.
