New Comedy Club Launches in Southampton
Sticks and Stones Comedy Club
Sticks and Stones Comedy Club features laughs from top comics and producers with years of comedy event experience in the Hamptons. Southampton, NY - Sticks and Stones Comedy Club is proud to announce the opening of its new location in Southampton, New York this summer. The Club will feature a lineup of comedy stars from around the country, as well as local talent. Located in the elegant and professional theater inside the Southampton Cultural Center, the Sticks and Stones Comedy Club offers an intimate and comfortable setting for guests to enjoy an evening of laughter with friends and family. ”We're thrilled to be working with the Southampton Cultural Center, the Village’s hub for cultural, performance, and community programming. Kirsten Lonnie of the Southampton Cultural Center is an incredible partner, a true patron of the arts,” said club owner Abby Russell. Ms. Russell, a filmmaker, and producer, created the HBO-sponsored Hamptons Comedy Festival in 2000. She is a lifelong Hamptons resident, as is club producer Lynn Kaplan, a veteran comedy and TV executive, who worked with Louis C.K. and Conan O’Brien. “We've worked hard to create a space that's both inviting and entertaining, and we can't wait to share it with the community,” Kaplan said. Starting Friday, June 30, Sticks and Stones Comedy Club will offer national headlining talents such as Carmen Lynch, Jordan Rock, Eddie Brill, Eddie Pepitone, Tom Cotter, and Liz Miele.
Two shows each night at 7 pm and 9:30 pm will feature a headliner, a featured act, and a host. The Club will offer comedy and other programming on a year-round basis, such as Spanish language-only comedy shows. The club's opening weekend will feature headliner Carmen Lynch, a comedy darling who’s been touring nationally and internationally and who has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon; and headliner Jordan Rock, who can be seen on Pete Davidson’s latest television series called ‘Bupkis.’ Rock has been selling out comedy clubs around the country, but he still calls himself ‘the most affordable Rock.’ That’s right - Chris Rock is his brother. Local, homegrown comedian Joe Winchell hosts both nights. Winchell grew up in the Hamptons and went to Pierson High School and has performed comedy in the city and down the island. Now that the Hamptons will have its own comedy club, he won’t have to travel far for stage time.
